Is she getting a boost from her man candy familiar?
The web of truth gets thicker from here on in. note- I can\’t vote on any thing lately, any idea folks?
So it turns out drinking 50 mana potions a day does a mage good.
Danalach has always been shown to have large amount of raw power. Betting that downing those 50 mana potions have increased her magical reserves, do to repeated emptying and refilling her magic supply a dozen times a day. And Since she has been casting spells so much she has internalized the formulas at a rate much faster then other mages.
I think we know why dana’s so hiddeously addicted to mana potions
So it turns out that 50 mana potions a day does a mage good
Dana has always been shown to have a lot of raw power. And given she drinks 50 mana potions a day I bet that her reserves have been increasing rapidly do to being emptied and filled a dozen of times a day. While at the same time casting spells so much daily has allowed her to learn the spell formulas at a super fast rate.
It looks to me as if she’s modifying spells she knows (Fireball –> Incendiary Spray), possibly fueled by her justifiably extreme fear of spiders. It’s probably dangerous, and she may pay a price from using too much mana, or something, but, hey, it worked!
OP spells for sorcerers in a realm that includes Darkest Dungeon aspects … this is a topic worth delving a bit more time into
Hmm. Other adventurers in the spider’s lair. Networking!
Interwebs even 😀
If Int is your dump stat…
If you are a Spontaneous caster…
If a lack of clothing seem to be a boost to your spells…
… You might be a Red Sorcerer.
Dana is actually quite smart we know mages are an INT class in this setting, and Dana Int is much higher then Cyprien’s as he could not even try to read Dana’s spell book for easy xp
i\’m wondering if her spells might work on INT rather than CHA but be more spontaneous like a Sorceress than planned in advance like a Wizard(Witch) ?
Plot twist Dana Is actually an arcane bloodline sorcerer.
Yup, Sorceress 🙂 and one that can adapt her spells to suit her purposes, OD\’ing on Mana potions does do the body good 😉
The hot temper and hotter spells gave it away, she matches my Sorceress exactly, right down to the ditz.
I think she might be min/maxing on destruction magic. I can\’t think of any time i seen her do any other spells.
\’possessing\’ flies seems to work alright…except for that situational awareness around cobwebs bit 😉
Aha, back in https://elven.co.nz/comic/elven-00011/ she levelled up as a \’Mage\’, looks like magic in this world is a combination of wizardry and sorcery
Convenient and very powerful, especially if used for the proper comedic purposes 😉
Honestly when I started the comic, I didn’t intend for it to be D&D inspired, just cRPGs in general. I haven’t even played D&D tabletop at all, just sunk many hours in Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter Nights years ago and more recently, Solasta and BG3. n_n
The only RPG\’s I\’ve really played much are D&D and AD&D plus BG and Neverwinter Nights (and I still do)
I know a bit about a few others but my comments are usually slanted towards those ones.
If you’ve played Neverwinter Nights 1&2, then you’ve played D&D without the tabletop. The races, classes, spell, etc. are all nearly identical to those used in 3rd edition and 3.5 edition of D&D. A few things were altered, simply to make it easier for them to be playable in a PC game, but otherwise it’s the same.
Any bets on whether they rescue the missing squires stuck in the web or whether they die in the \’rescue attempt\’ and they just loot the bodies ?
Either way Cyprien jumps ahead in the competition to be Ysteena\’s newest plaything.
Pretty sure those are deaders
Great! Cyprian, quick … get a helmet!!!
To answer your question, Tarin, the odds are quite good.
Odds are good that the goods are odd.
When the DM lets the player homebrew skills and spells.
Oooor maybe it’s not Dana.
Multiclassing as sorceress? OR virtual int over 20 (there were feats like that in D&D if I recall) just for spellcasting purposes? OR its like in that old saying “Everybody knows something is impossible till one day a gal who doesnt know it comes along and does it.”
Any bets on how many of those cocooned guys Tarin will rob… I mean checks for ID, before big bad spider mama comes along?
Ah, dumb blond talent trade off. The dumber she get the more her magic levels up.
Dana has always seemed very much to be a “natural” at flame throwing (or should I say “unnatural?). 😉
Me thinks yon “sticky-fingered” mistress has begun to understand her magical roommate. 😉 heheehee
